Colorado Behavioral Healthcare Council
George DelGrosso is executive director of Colorado Behavioral Healthcare Council (CBHC), which is the membership organization for the 17 Community Mental Health Centers, five Behavioral Health Organizations and two specialty clinics in Colorado.
Prior to this position he was the Executive Director of Mental Health Centers in the San Luis Valley of Colorado and Cody, Wyoming. George has been in the mental health field for more than 30 years. The progression of his career has been first as a psychotherapist, then a marriage and family therapist and then clinical supervisor and program developer before moving into upper level and senior management.
George’s expertise includes creating and implementing effective public policy for behavioral health, training and development of people who aspire to be leaders, expanding organizational effectiveness, solving system of care issues for children and adults who have mental health treatment needs, providing mental health treatment in rural settings, integrating mental and physical health, and transforming the health care system to include necessary benefits and system design for behavioral health.
In addition to his duties at CBHC, George serves on the Executive Committee of the National Council for Behavioral Healthcare, and is Chair of the Council’s Association Executives Committee.
George combines his years of experience at different levels of community mental health, the information he has assimilated on a broad range of mental health issues, and his familiarity with mental health service delivery across the state of Colorado and nationally to educate policy makers and the public about successful service delivery.
